Pope Leo XIV has called on world leaders to use the upcoming Olympic Games in Italy as a catalyst for peace.
Idman.Biz reports that the Winter Olympics will be held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, from February 6-22. A total of 116 medals will be contested.
"I have received deeply disturbing news about increasing tensions between Cuba and the United States, two neighboring countries. Echoing the message of the Cuban bishops, I urge all responsible parties to promote sincere and effective dialogue to avoid violence and any actions that could increase the suffering of the Cuban people," the Pope wrote on his social media page.
