The opening ceremony of the XXV Winter Olympic Games is taking place in Italy.
According to "Report", the opening ceremony is taking place at the "San-Siro" stadium in Milan.
The ceremony began with an artistic program reflecting Italy's rich history and cultural heritage. National dances typical of different regions of the country were performed in the arena, and traditional music was played. The stage design features visual compositions with elements symbolizing the Alps, Italian architecture, and the winter season.
In addition to modern technologies, scenes reminiscent of the national identity of the Italian people attracted special attention in the opening show. Viewers are shown laser effects, light shows and massive dance compositions.
It should be noted that the Olympics began on February 4 with the mixed doubles curling tournament. The women's hockey tournament started on February 5. In Italy, there will be a fight for 116 medals in 16 sports, which is seven more medals than at the previous 2022 Beijing Games. Mixed team competitions in skeleton, "mogul" competitions between men and women in freestyle skiing and other types have been added, but mixed team competitions in alpine skiing will not be held. Ski mountaineering is a new competition in the Olympic program that includes men's and women's sprints, as well as team competitions.
From the representatives of Azerbaijan, Vladimir Litvintsev will start the fight in the short program in figure skating in Milan on February 10. Anastasia Papatoma will test her strength in giant slalom on the 15th of the month, and 3 days later in slalom. The competitions will be held in Cortina d'Ampezzo, a famous ski resort in Italy.
