The opening ceremony of the XVIII European Youth Olympic Festival has taken place in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.
Idman.biz reports that Azerbaijani athletes marched 4th in the parade at the opening ceremony.
Zeyd Alasgarov, the European champion among juniors in judo, and Humay Dadashova, the two-time winner of the Turkish Open in taekwondo, carried the tricolor flag of our country.
The festival will be held from July 20-26 in Skopje and Kumanovo in North Macedonia, as well as in Osijek, Croatia. More than 4,000 athletes from 50 European countries will compete in 15 sports.
