A problem has emerged with the medals presented to some athletes at the Olympic Games held in Italy.
İdman.Biz reports that the organizing committee has announced that the defective awards will be repaired or replaced entirely. The decision was made in conjunction with the Italian Mint, which is responsible for the production of the medals.
Luca Casassa, head of the organizing committee's operations service, spoke about the issue:
"There were defects in some medals. The organizing committee immediately addressed this problem and found a solution together with the mint responsible for the production of the medals. Athletes who have faced the problem can return the awards. They will either be repaired or replaced."
It is worth noting that earlier, the medal of Swedish skier Ebba Andersson had cracked, and some other athletes had cases of ribbon detachment.
