Swimmer Oktay Huseynov is happy to have raised the Azerbaijani flag high.
The athlete himself stated in his statement to journalists that he won a gold medal at the III CIS Games, reports the Western Bureau of "Report".
He said he was proud of his victory:
"This is the first time that an Azerbaijani swimmer has won a gold medal at the CIS Games. I am very happy that I was able to do it. I am happy that I raised the flag of Azerbaijan to the highest level. I was a little hasty before the race. I was able to eliminate this when I started swimming."
It should be noted that our athlete surpassed all his rivals in the 400-meter medley swimming competition.
