The number of countries and athletes registered for the III CIS Games to be held in Azerbaijan has increased.
According to the information provided to "Report" from Baku City Circuit, 1619 athletes and 2313 representatives from 12 countries will participate in the competition.
Although the participation of 10 countries was previously planned, Pakistan and Oman were later added to this list.
It has been clarified that Azerbaijan will be represented by 340 athletes, Pakistan by 4, Russia by 262, Uzbekistan by 254, Belarus by 240, Kazakhstan by 147, Tajikistan by 144, Kyrgyzstan by 126, Turkmenistan by 48, Turkey by 38, Kuwait by 6, and Oman by 4.
The competitions will be held in 23 sports (archery, badminton, 3x3 basketball, boxing, canoe, chovgan, fencing, football U-16, Greco-Roman wrestling, judo, karate, rhythmic gymnastics, rowing, sambo, shooting, skeet shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, trampoline gymnastics, volleyball, women's wrestling, freestyle wrestling) in 12 venues.
It should be noted that the III CIS Games will be held from September 28 to October 8 in seven cities of Azerbaijan - Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Shaki, Goygol and Khankendi. The opening ceremony of the competition will be held on September 28, and the closing ceremony will be held on October 8 at the Ganja city stadium.
