The Norwegian ski team has been penalized by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) for a rule violation at the Winter Olympics held in Italy.
Idman.Biz reports that the incident occurred on the day of the relay race – a member of the team's support staff remained on the track after it was closed.
The support staff member admitted the mistake and apologized to the FIS judges.
According to the Federation's statement, he was unable to properly determine the closing time of the track and remained on the classic track for 8–10 minutes. After discovering the error, he immediately contacted the FIS.
