47-year-old Mexican skier Sara Schleper became the oldest alpine skier at the Winter Olympics and made history as the first mother-son duo to compete in the same games.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, it is the first time in Olympic history that a mother and son are competing in the same games. Mexican skier Sara Schleper, representing Mexico in Italy, participated in the alpine skiing competition yesterday.
Schleper finished 26th in the women's alpine skiing competition with a time of 1:31.37, 7.96 seconds behind the winner. Italian Federica Brignone won the gold medal with a time of 1:23.41. France's Romane Miradoli was second with 1:23.82, and Austria's Cornelia Huetter was third with 1:23.93.

In addition to making history by competing in Milano-Cortina with her son, Sara Schleper also broke three more records. Schleper became the first athlete in history to participate in seven Winter Olympics in alpine skiing. She is also the first Mexican athlete to compete for the Mexican flag for the fourth time.
