Galina Svechnikova, the mother of Russian Nikolay Svechnikov, who went missing during a swimming competition in the Bosphorus Strait, said that family members would file a lawsuit in Turkey seeking compensation.
İdman.biz reports with reference to TASS that a lawyer is currently preparing the claim.
Svechnikova stated that they will demand compensation. She emphasized that she could not disclose all the details yet.
It should be noted that on August 24, during an international swimming competition organized by the Turkish Olympic Committee, 29-year-old Svechnikov was the only swimmer among 3,000 participants who could not reach the finish line.
The search for the Russian involved five boats, a coast guard helicopter, as well as divers and sonar. However, the operation has not yet yielded any results.
