The leadership of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) held a meeting with the Paralympians who will represent Azerbaijan at the European Youth Paralympic Games.
The NPC press service told "Report" about this.
The event was attended by the President of the NPC Hidayat Abdullayev, Vice President Ilham Zakiyev, Secretary General Togrul Rahimov, athletes, coaches and committee representatives.
At the meeting, confidence was expressed in the athletes, and success was wished in the upcoming prestigious tournament.
Paralympians will be represented in 7 sports (parataekwondo, para-judo, para-athletics, para-swimming, para-archery, para-table tennis, boccia) with 17 athletes (11 men and 6 women).
It should be noted that the 7th European Youth Paralympic Games, where the Azerbaijan National Paralympic team will debut, will be held in Istanbul from July 21-28. About 700 athletes from 33 countries will compete for medals in 9 sports in the competition for the 13-23 age group.
The official opening ceremony of the European Youth Paralympic Games will be held on July 24, and the closing ceremony will be held on July 27.
