American alpine skier and Olympic champion Lindsey Vonn suffered a severe injury at the XXV Winter Olympic Games in Italy.
"Report" reports, citing the official website of the competition, that the 41-year-old athlete lost control while descending the mountain and crashed.
Vonn crashed into one of the gates and fell to the ground in pain. After this incident, the race was stopped for more than 10 minutes. The athlete was evacuated by helicopter.
It should be noted that L. Vonn suffered a serious knee injury (bone contusion and meniscus injury) a week earlier at a tournament in Switzerland. Despite this, she decided to participate in the Olympics.
