Lindsey Vonn, the American alpine skier and champion of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics in Canada, wrote that she faced the threat of amputation of her leg after an unsuccessful fall at the Olympic Games.
Idman.Biz reports that she spoke about this in an interview with the BBC.
Vonn said that Doctor Tom Hackett saved her leg and prevented amputation. According to the athlete, the doctor reduced the pressure by making incisions on both sides of her leg, allowing the tissues to "breathe".
"He saved my leg. He saved me," Vonn emphasized.
