Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of IDEA Public Union, visited the rowing base as part of her visit to Mingachevir.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to AZERTAC that Leyla Aliyeva was informed in detail about the activities of the "Kur" Olympic Training and Sports Center built on the Kura River, the infrastructure created here, the preparation process of athletes and the achievements. It was noted that the "Kur" Olympic Training and Sports Center is one of the unique rowing bases in Europe, as well as in the CIS.
The center operates as one of the main training bases of the national team in rowing. Modern standard conditions have been created here for athletes of different age groups to train professionally, necessary infrastructure, sports equipment and systems that meet safety requirements are provided.
During the meeting, attention was also drawn to the work done to involve young people in a healthy lifestyle, to promote rowing more widely and to strengthen sports infrastructure in the region.
Leyla Aliyeva watched the rowing training process and had a sincere conversation with the athletes.
