Two-time Olympian Katie Ledecky has become the most decorated female swimmer in World Aquatics Championships history.
Idman.biz reports that the American athlete won a gold medal in the 1500m freestyle event at the competition held in Singapore.
With this, she won her 22nd gold medal at the World Championships. Ledecky won 16 of these medals in individual events and 6 in relay events. Katie surpassed the record of Russian synchronised swimmer Svetlana Romashina (21 gold).
It should be noted that Michael Phelps has won the most gold medals at the World Championships. He has 26 gold medals to his name.
