The classic sprint at the World Cup stage in Drammen, Norway, ended sensationally.
İdman.Biz reports that the clear favorite, Norwegian Olympic champion Johannes Klæbo, finished the race not as a leader, but in an ambulance.
The dramatic incident occurred during the first semi-final. The culprit was American Ben Ogden, the Olympic classic sprint silver medalist. While trying to change lanes, he stepped on Klæbo's ski, slipped, and fell right under the Norwegian's feet.
Johannes couldn't avoid the fall. Klæbo fell extremely badly, hitting the back of his head hard on the ground.
He was taken to the hospital by ambulance. His condition is currently satisfactory.
