Norwegian skier Johannes Høsflot Klæbo has etched his name in history by achieving another success at the Winter Olympic Games.
According to "Report", citing the official website of the competition, the athlete outpaced all his rivals in the 10 km freestyle skiing event and became an Olympic champion.
With this victory, he has brought the number of Olympic gold medals in his career to 8. He also tied the record for the most gold medals won by athletes in the history of the Winter Olympic Games.
Currently, in addition to Klæbo, three more Norwegian athletes - Bjørn Dæhlie, Marit Bjørgen and Ole Einar Bjørndalen - hold this record.
In the said competition, Y.Klæbo won his third gold medal at the current Olympics with a result of 20:36.2 seconds, leaving behind Frenchman Mathis Deloge (20:41.1) and his compatriot Einar Hedegart (20:50.2).
It should be noted that the Norwegian star will have several more opportunities to break this record on his own. He will compete in the relay race on February 15, in the team sprint on February 18, and in the 50 km race on February 21.
