The international rowing regatta "President's Cup-2025", dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, will start today.
İdman.biz reports with reference to AZERTAC that the official opening ceremony of the tournament and competitions at a distance of 200 meters will be held in Sugovushan, a beautiful corner of Karabakh. Athletes representing
Azerbaijan, Estonia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Serbia, South Africa, Spain, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan will compete in the competitions.
The regatta will continue on May 1-2 in Mingachevir "Kur" Olympic Training and Sports Center. Here, teams will test their strength in various distances in the kayak, canoe and academic types of rowing.
On May 2, the closing ceremony of the regatta will be held in front of the "Kur" Olympic Training and Sports Center in Mingachevir. At the closing ceremony, the winners will be awarded first. Cups for kayak-canoe and academic rowing will be presented to their owners. Then the closing ceremony will continue with the artistic part. In the artistic part, various show programs, performances by well-known dance groups and a concert program will give the audience a real festive atmosphere. The regatta will traditionally end with fireworks.
It should be noted that the "President's Cup" regatta has been included in the official calendar plan of the European Canoe Association (ECA) for the third year in a row.
