It is noted that although it was announced that world-renowned artists would perform at the opening ceremony, this factor was not enough to increase fan interest. Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and American singer Mariah Carey will perform at the event. It is reported that Mariah Carey will perform a song in Italian at the ceremony.
It has been announced that parallel ceremonies will be held in three different locations in addition to Milan at the same time. In addition, for the first time in Olympic history, the Olympic torch will be lit in two different cauldrons at the same time. This step will symbolize the joint hosting of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
