The Taekwondo competitions at the III CIS Games, hosted by Azerbaijan for the first time, have concluded.
Idman.biz reports that on the second day of the competitions held at the "Kur" Olympic Training and Sports Center in Mingachevir, 11 representatives of Azerbaijan climbed the podium.
Among them, Vasif Salimov (68 kg) won gold, Nigar Abdullayeva, Leyla Bashirova (both 57 kg), Samarrrukh Osmanova, Zemfira Hasanzade (both 49 kg), Zemfira Aslanova, Narmin Ansari (both 67 kg), Fuad Maharramli, Muhammad Hasanli (both 58 kg), Rza Asadli (80 kg) and Khan Mammadzadeh (87 kg) won bronze medals.
The previous day, Azerbaijani Taekwondo athletes won 11 medals.
Thus, the Azerbaijani Taekwondo team finished the III CIS Games with 22 medals.
The III CIS Games, attended by a total of 1624 athletes from 13 countries, will conclude on October 8.
