The first day of the fencing competition continues at the III CIS Games, hosted by Azerbaijan for the first time.
Idman.biz reports that 8 representatives of Azerbaijan joined the competition from the group stage at the competitions held in Ganja Sports Palace.
Although all athletes advanced from the group stage, they did not place among the medalists.
Among them, Ali Ismayilov, Najaf Shabanli, Aykhan Islamzade, Abdulmalik Nasibzade, and Nail Mammadli lost in the 1/16 finals, Rasul Aliyev and Timur Husnaddinov in the 1/8 finals, and Abbas Samadli in the 1/4 finals.
It is worth noting that the III CIS Games, in which 1624 athletes from 13 countries participate, will end on October 8.
