Hilary Knight, a forward for the U.S. women's national hockey team, has responded to President Donald Trump's comments about the team.
İdman.Biz reports that during a celebration in the men's team locker room, Trump, in a phone conversation, invited the players to come to Washington for his speech to Congress.
"I can send a military plane. I should invite the women's team too, otherwise I'll be impeached," Trump said.
"I think it's an inappropriate joke, and unfortunately, it overshadows the numerous successes of women competing for Team USA and winning gold medals at the Olympics. We're focused on celebrating the achievements of the women in our locker room, their remarkable efforts, and celebrating the gold medals. And we really don't want to diminish that with an inappropriate joke," ESPN quotes Knight as saying.
