İdman.biz reports with reference to AZERTAC that these words were said by Mirnazim Javadov, senior coach of the Azerbaijani rowing team in the kayak category, in an interview with journalists at the "President's Cup-2025" international regatta dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
He assessed the performance of the national team in the tournament: "We prepared well for the competition. As a result, on the first day of the tournament, our athletes won 3 bronze medals. Today, we managed to add 1 silver and 1 bronze medal to our assets. We predicted in advance that our results would be high. We expect a gold medal from Elimurad Hajizade today. He will try to beat his rivals in the 1000-meter race."
The head coach emphasized that their next goals are to climb the podium at the European and world championships: "We want to bring the continuation of our success to the international arena. Of course, the results we will achieve at the "President's Cup-2025" are important to us. We want to increase our strength a little more at the regatta and prepare for the world and European championships."
It should be noted that Azerbaijani athletes won 1 silver and 4 bronze medals in the first two days of the competition. The regatta will conclude on May 2.
