The Finnish team has filed a protest against the results of the men's ski sprint event at the 2026 Olympic Games.
Idman.Biz reports that Norwegian Johannes Klæbo finished first in the classic sprint, American Ben Ogden second, and another Norwegian, Oskar Opstad Vike, third. Finnish skier Lauri Vuorinen finished fourth.
The Finnish side demands the disqualification of the Norwegians and Americans. They believe that Norway and the USA violated the rules of the competition by gaining an advantage in the preparation of skis during the race.
During the final runs of the sprint, Norway used a wax roller, a tool that allows for the rapid application of wax, changing the grip zone of the skis. The International Ski Federation (FIS) allowed them to use the roller without informing other teams.
Meanwhile, FIS Race Director Michael Lamplot told NRK that a bottle containing liquid was discovered on the US team's service table and photographed. Any liquid is prohibited in that zone.
