An emotional moment occurred with Canadian freestyle athlete Maya Schwinghammer.
İdman.Biz reports that journalists accidentally encountered the athlete's father during street interviews in Livigno. He stated that he came from Saskatoon, Canada, and explained that the reason for traveling so far was his daughter competing at the Olympic level.
The journalist called Schwinghammer a "legendary and incredible athlete" and asked her father what this meant to him. At that moment, the father couldn't hold back his emotions, wiped his eyes, and said that it was difficult to express his feelings in words.
He emphasized that he was proud of his daughter, that she had already reached the peak, and that her rise to this level was a great happiness for the family. According to the father, Maya is a very hardworking, healthy, and goal-oriented athlete.
It should be noted that Maya Schwinghammer competes in the moguls (descent on a bumpy, hilly track) discipline of freestyle and won a bronze medal at the 2025 World Championships.
