The Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation has established multifaceted cooperation with "Paddle Europe" (European Canoe Association - ECA). Taking into account Azerbaijan's strategic geographical location, its ability to host development-oriented activities, as well as the existing high level of cooperation between "Paddle Europe" (European Canoe Association - ECA) and the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation, a document on mutual cooperation was signed between the parties.
İdman.biz reports that the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, President of the International Canoe Federation Thomas Konietzko, President of the European Canoe Association Jan Zunqrana and Head of the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation Vugar Ahmadov participated in the signing ceremony. According to the document, by establishing the organization's office in Baku, the parties will cooperate in supporting Eastern Europe and developing countries, developing canoe sports, as well as organizing international competitions and training camps in the Sarsang reservoir.
Also, infrastructure projects that will increase training opportunities in the region may be considered in the future. Taking into account the geographical position of Azerbaijan, the parties will explore opportunities to strengthen relations between canoe sports communities in Europe and Asia. This cooperation will include joint training, coach and leadership education, participation in events, and development of mutually compatible areas.
For effective coordination of cooperation and transparent decision-making, the parties will create a joint management body. In this regard, it is planned to create a Joint Management Group consisting of an equal number of representatives from both parties.
