Singapore leads the world in terms of prize money for winners at the 2026 Olympic Games.
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, a Singaporean athlete will receive $788,000 if they win a gold medal.
The top five also includes Hong Kong (767,000), Italy (213,000), Poland (211,000) and Slovenia (162,000).
Singaporean athletes have never won a medal at the Winter Olympics. At the Milan and Cortina Games, the Southeast Asian country is represented by one athlete: alpine skier Faiz Basha, who will compete in the slalom and giant slalom events.
The smallest bonuses are given to potential winners such as New Zealand ($3,000), Australia ($14,000), Denmark ($15,000), Canada ($18,000), Austria ($23,000), the Netherlands ($35,000), Germany ($35,000) and the United States ($37,000).
The Olympic Games in Italy will end on February 22.
