The organizers of the 2027 Universiade, which will be held in Chungcheong, South Korea, held a press conference.
Idman.biz's employee, who was seconded to Germany, reports that the presentation took place within the framework of the multiforum in the Rhine-Ruhr region, at the "Messe Essen" exhibition complex in Essen.
The Universiade program will include 18 sports. These are sports gymnastics and rhythmic gymnastics, archery, rowing, judo, athletics, badminton, basketball, diving, fencing, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, water polo, beach volleyball and golf.
The next Universiade will be held at 31 sports facilities. Almost all of them are already ready.
As for organizational matters, the cities of Tejon and Sejong, as well as the provinces of Chungcheong-Namdo and Chungcheong-Pukto, will jointly host this multiforum.
Thus, the Universiade will be held in South Korea for the fourth time. Previously, the country hosted the Winter Universiade in Jeonju in 1997, the Summer Universiades in Daegu in 2003 and Gwangju in 2015.
Speaking at the event, Chang Hi Kang, head of the Organizing Committee, said that the bidding committee, representing the four regions of South Korea, aims to hold the Games to a high standard and at minimal cost.
The opening ceremony of the Universiade will take place in Taejeon, and the closing ceremony will take place in Sejong.
The multiforum will be held on August 1-12, 2027.
