It is one of the biggest holidays of the Olympic movement in Azerbaijan.
According to "Report", this was stated by Chingiz Huseynzade, Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Azerbaijan, at the presentation ceremony of the "Baku-2015 - Artificial Intelligence and Innovation in Sports" competition.
He shared his views at an event held in connection with the European Games held in 2015:
"I remember those days. This competition left a great mark in the history of Azerbaijan. A situation arose where the games had to take place either in 2015 or 2017. Azerbaijan took it upon itself to host the tournament. Many European countries were against organizing the competition. We fought a lot. Then those people who were against these games had to be silent. President Ilham Aliyev gave us great support. Azerbaijan showed its political, economic and sports power".
