Sambo athletes joined the competition today at the III CIS Games hosted by Azerbaijan. Our team is represented by eight athletes under the leadership of Yaqub Abdullayev.
An employee of Idman.biz, seconded to Mingachevir, received a statement from the president of the Azerbaijan Sambo Federation, Ceyhun Mammadov.
He answered our employee's question "Will Azerbaijani sambo wrestlers who do not have a gold medal in the games be able to win this time?" as follows:
"Our team has prepared purposefully and intensively under the leadership of head coach Yaqub Abdullayev, so I am sure that medals will be won. Yes, Russian sambo wrestlers are considered the favorites of the tournament. But we also hope that we can win at least one gold medal."
