Australian snowboarder Cam Bolton was hospitalized with a serious injury during training ahead of the XXV Winter Olympics.
"Report" reports, citing ESPN, that the athlete was diagnosed with two fractures of the cervical spine.
The incident occurred during a training run. Bolton felt pain on Monday and only sought medical attention the next day. After examination and X-rays revealed the fractures, the athlete was transported to the hospital by helicopter.
The 35-year-old athlete was preparing to participate in the Olympics for the fourth time in his career. He previously participated in the Winter Olympics held in 2014, 2018 and 2022. Cam Bolton is a silver medalist at the 2025 World Championships in mixed snowboard cross.
It should be noted that the XXV Winter Olympics will end on February 22.
