The date of departure to Italy of the delegation that will participate in the XXV Winter Olympic Games of Azerbaijan has been determined.
Murad Farzaliyev, press secretary of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), told Idman.Biz in a statement that the delegation will leave for Italy on February 5.
The Chef de Mission of the Azerbaijani team will be Anar Bagirov, the head of the foreign relations department of the NOC. It should be noted that Anar Bagirov is the son of the famous sambo and judo expert Natig Bagirov.
It should be noted that the XXV Winter Olympic Games, which will be hosted by the cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, will start with curling competitions. The opening ceremony will be held on February 6, and the games will end on February 22.
Let us remind you that Azerbaijan will be represented at the Olympiad by Anastasia Papatoma in alpine skiing and Vladimir Litvintsev in figure skating. Figure skating competitions will begin on February 6, and alpine skiing competitions will begin on February 7. In accordance with the principle of gender equality, both athletes will carry the Azerbaijani flag at the opening and closing ceremonies.
