The Azerbaijani national team, which participated with 6 athletes in the European Open Para Powerlifting Championship held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, finished the tournament with 12 medals.
"Report" reports that 16-year-old Paralympian Ilhamiz Karimov (+107 kg) showed a result of 115 kg in the best lift and 330 kg in the total lift, and became the winner of the European Open Championship among juniors in both indicators.
15-year-old Paralympian Eljan Samadzade (49 kg) won a bronze medal among juniors in both the total lift and the best lift, showing a result of 80 kg.
19-year-old athlete Rasul Zakiyev (97 kg) won a silver medal among young people in both indicators, showing a result of 358 kg in the total lift and 126 kg in the best lift.
It should be noted that since the competition has the status of the Open European Championship, each of our three para powerlifters was awarded 4 medals of the same standard.
