The karate competitions at the CIS Games, hosted by Azerbaijan for the first time, have come to an end. According to Sport24.az, our representatives won a total of 16 medals (6 gold, 3 silver, and 7 bronze) at the competitions held at the Mingachevir Kur Olympic Center.
On the last day, Turgut Hasanov (84 kilograms), Irina Zaretska (68 kilograms), and Farid Agayev (75 kilograms) became champions.
Asiman Gurbanli (+84 kilograms) won silver, while Aysu Aliyeva (61 kilograms), Farid Shahbazli (84 kilograms), and Rashid Suleymanov (75 kilograms) won bronze medals.
It should be noted that Madina Sadigova (55 kilograms), Nuran Rzazade (67 kilograms), and Roman Heydarov (in individual kata competition) had previously won and climbed to the highest step of the podium.
Farid Savadov (60 kilograms) and Nazrin Piriyeva (55 kilograms) won silver, while Inji Azizova (50 kilograms), Aslan Dostuyev (67 kilograms), Ramila Heydarova, and Rovshan Aliyev (both in individual kata competitions) settled for bronze medals.
It is worth reminding that the III CIS Games, in which 1624 athletes from 13 countries participated, will end on October 8.
