Azerbaijan will host one of the most prestigious swimming competitions, the World Cup, next year. Sport24.az reports that the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan has released information about this.
It was reported that Zaur Aliyev, President of the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation, and Hussein Al-Musallam, President of World Aquatics, signed an official agreement on holding the World Cup in Baku on October 1-3, 2026.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov, also attended the signing ceremony.
It should be noted that the first stage of the "Silk Way" World Cup will be held at the Baku Aquatics Palace. The next stages of the competition will be held on October 8-10 in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) and on October 15-17 in Astana (Kazakhstan).
