The XXV Winter Olympic Games, held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, are ongoing. Sport24.az reports that the Azerbaijan national team has also started the competition.
Azerbaijan is represented at the Olympics by Vladimir Litvintsev in figure skating and Anastasia Papatoma in alpine skiing.
Vladimir Litvintsev has already joined the competition. Our representative competed in the short program. Litvintsev is currently in 17th place with 63.63 points. The first 24 out of 29 skaters will qualify for the free skating. Litvintsev's chances of qualifying are very slim.
It should be noted that Vladimir Litvintsev will compete in the free program on February 13, and our athlete Anastasia Papatoma will test her strength in alpine skiing competitions in Cortina d'Ampezzo on February 18.
