Karate competitions have started at the VI Islamic Solidarity Games held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

Madina Sadygova, competing in the 55 kg weight category, won a bronze medal by defeating her Pakistani opponent Laiba Ziya in the fight for third place.
Roman Heydarov won a bronze medal in the kata category by defeating Karim al-Hajani, a representative of the United Arab Emirates.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani karate team is represented by 6 athletes in the competition.
