Azerbaijani athletes have won 122 medals at the CIS Games held so far.
According to "Report", 25 of them are gold, 33 are silver, and 64 are bronze.
According to this indicator, Azerbaijan ranks fifth in the medal standings among the countries participating in the competition. Kazakhstan (159 medals: 25 gold, 49 silver, 85 bronze) is fourth, Uzbekistan (197 medals: 51 gold, 57 silver, 89 bronze) is third, Belarus (305 medals: 56 gold, 110 silver, 139 bronze) is second, and Russia (503 medals: 263 gold, 131 silver, 109 bronze) is first.
The I CIS Games were organized in Kazan, Russia in 2021. At that time, Azerbaijani representatives won 60 medals. 15 of them are gold, 16 are silver, and 29 are bronze. The country was fourth in the medal standings.
The II CIS Games were held in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, in 2023. This time, the country's athletes ranked fourth in the medal standings with 62 awards (10 gold, 17 silver, 35 bronze).
The III CIS Games will be held in Azerbaijan. It was clarified that Azerbaijan will be represented by 340 athletes, Pakistan by 4, Russia by 262, Uzbekistan by 254, Belarus by 240, Kazakhstan by 147, Tajikistan by 144, Kyrgyzstan by 126, Turkmenistan by 48, Turkey by 38, Kuwait by 6, and Oman by 4.
The competitions will be held in 12 venues in 23 sports (archery, badminton, 3x3 basketball, boxing, canoeing, chovgan, fencing, football U-16, Greco-Roman wrestling, judo, karate, rhythmic gymnastics, rowing, sambo, shooting, trap shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, trampoline gymnastics, volleyball, women's wrestling, freestyle wrestling).
It should be noted that the III CIS Games will be held from September 28 to October 8 this year in seven cities of Azerbaijan - Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Shaki, Goygol and Khankendi. The opening ceremony of the competition will be held on September 28, and the closing ceremony will be held on October 8 at the Ganja city stadium.
