An award ceremony was held in the administrative building of the National Olympic Committee for schoolchildren who achieved high results in the 2025 republican and international sports competitions.
Idman.Biz reports that the event was attended by Vice-Presidents of the National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzade and Olympic medalist Zemfira Meftahetdinova, Deputy Head of the Baku City Education Department Anar Gadimaliyev, Head of the Sector for the Organization of Extracurricular Activities Gunay Gurbanova, sector employees, members of the Athletes Commission, Olympic medalists, high-achieving schoolchildren and the directors of those schools.
During his speech, Chingiz Huseynzade emphasized that the achievements of schoolchildren are of great importance for the future of Azerbaijani sports, and that sports play a special role in the formation of a healthy lifestyle for young people and the strengthening of the spirit of patriotism.
Anar Gadimaliyev especially noted the role of extracurricular activities and teachers in increasing the interest of schoolchildren in sports.
At the end of the event, 30 schoolchildren who achieved success in the 2025 republican and international sports competitions were presented with plaques and gifts.
