A man who had been wanted for years was arrested by police while attending a Slovakian national hockey team game at the Winter Olympics in Italy.
İdman.Biz reports that the 44-year-old man had been on the run since 2010. He had been sentenced to 11 months and seven days in prison for a series of thefts from stores, but had managed to evade law enforcement.
Nevertheless, the Slovakian fan returned to Italy to support his national team. The Carabinieri tracked him down after he settled in a guest house and arrested him on the basis of a warrant issued by the prosecutor's office 16 years ago.
Interestingly, against this backdrop, the Slovakian national team started the Olympics with a victory – the team defeated Finland 4:1.
