"Our main goal was to represent our country properly in this prestigious competition and increase our experience in winter sports."
Idman.Biz reports that these words were said by Anar Bagirov, chef-de-mission of the Azerbaijani team, who competed in the 25th Winter Olympic Games in Italy.
He stated that this magnificent sports festival was rich in memorable events both in terms of organization and competition:
"Italy managed to organize this large-scale competition at a high level. Despite being held in two different centers, logistics and the comfort of athletes were provided at the highest level. The closing ceremony of the Olympic Games was the culmination of this great unity and sports solidarity. These games showed us once again that there is great potential for the development of winter sports, and we intend to turn the experience we have gained into even greater successes in the coming years."
It should be noted that Azerbaijan was represented by two athletes at the Winter Olympic Games. Vladimir Litvintsev, who competed in figure skating, failed to qualify for the free program competitions because he did not make it into the top "24" in the short program. Anastasia Papatoma finished the slalom competitions in 51st place. Her performance is considered a historic result for Azerbaijan in the slalom competitions of the Winter Olympic Games.
