American swimmer Gretchen Walsh set a world record twice in one day in the 100-meter butterfly.
According to "Report", citing foreign media, the athlete achieved this at a tournament held in Fort Lauderdale (USA, Florida).
The athlete showed a result of 55.09 seconds in the preliminary stage and 54.60 in the final. The previous world record also belonged to Walsh - 55.18 seconds.
It should be noted that the 22-year-old swimmer won two gold and the same number of silver medals at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. She also won gold, silver and bronze medals at the 2023 World Championships. In 2024, the American won 7 gold medals at the Short Course World Championships, and also set 9 world records.
