The First Round of the "Talent Selection" Competition among U-16 teenagers in judo will be held on February 14-15 at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex.
Idman.Biz reports that 358 athletes (302 boys, 56 girls) from 73 clubs and sports societies will compete in 16 weight categories in the tournament.
The purpose of holding the "Talent Selection" competition is to form a healthy lower base for the Azerbaijani national team, to identify prospective athletes who are candidates for the team, and to form a sustainable reserve base.
It should be noted that athletes who are in the top four in each weight category in the final rating ranking of the two rounds will be involved in the "Hopes of the Future" training program.
