The first round of the "Talent Selection" competition among U-16 junior judokas will be held on February 14-15 at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex. Sport24.az reports that 358 athletes (302 boys, 56 girls) from 73 clubs and sports societies will compete in 16 weight categories.
The purpose of the "Talent Selection" competition is to form a healthy base for the Azerbaijani national team, to identify prospective athletes nominated for the national team, and to form a sustainable reserve base.
It should be noted that athletes who are in the top 4 places in each weight category in the final ranking of 2 rounds will be involved in the "Hopes of the Future" training program.
