An Azerbaijani judoka has qualified for the final of the Grand Slam tournament held in Paris, the capital of France.
According to Report, Balabay Aghayev (60 kg) achieved this.
The 27-year-old athlete defeated Israeli representative Itshak Ashpiz (Israel) in the semi-final.
Ruslan Pashayev (66 kg), who lost in this round, will compete for third place. Nazir Talibov (66 kg) lost to Miguel Gago (Portugal) in the 1/16 final stage.
It should be noted that the Grand Slam will end on February 8. Azerbaijan is represented in the competition by eight judokas.
