The goal of the Azerbaijani mini-football team at the World Championship to be held in Baku will be to win a gold medal.
"Report" informs that the President of the Azerbaijan Minifootball Federation (AMF) Orkhan Mammadov said this in his statement to journalists.
He said that citizens will be able to spend their free time in the "Fan Zone" organized for the competition:
"This will further increase interest in the tournament. The final works are being carried out at the National Gymnastics Arena. It will be fully ready in a few days. We believe that the match between football legends on May 19 will also be welcomed by the fans. The football community wants that meeting very much."
The AMF President also touched upon the preparation of the team:
"The national team is also continuing its preparations. We have previously participated in an international tournament. Before the World Championship, we will play our last game against the team of the United Arab Emirates. Since the tournament is held in Baku, the expectations of the fans are high. As management, our expectations are the same. We want to win the competition. We have set this as a goal. But this is the World Championship. The competition is great. I think that getting into the "top 3" will be a great success for us."
It should be noted that the World Championship will be held from May 21 to June 1 at the National Gymnastics Arena. The Azerbaijani team will compete with Slovenia, Mauritania and Bahrain in Group A of the World Cup, which will be attended by 32 teams.
