Spanish national team footballer Lamin Yamal has revealed the details of his conversation with Argentine national team captain Lionel Messi after the 2026 World Cup final.
İdman.Biz reports, citing "Marka" publication, that Yamal said meeting Messi and competing with him on the same field for the World Cup was a special moment for him:
"A few years ago, if they had told me that I would lift the World Cup after playing against Leo Messi, I would have thought they were crazy.
He is the best footballer in history, and I have always admired him. After the game, I expressed my respect to him.
Messi told me to continue on my path and that the future belongs to our generation. These words are no less valuable than the gold medal I wear around my neck".
Note that in the final match held on July 19, Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 and became the world champion.
