Former Barcelona head coach Xavi has spoken about his career plans, saying he wants to manage a national team because it would give him more time with his family.
Sport.Biz reports that Xavi was sacked by Barcelona in 2024 after two and a half years in charge.
"My next step could be a national team. It would suit me, and I want it. I have a family, I have young children. The club doesn't allow me to spend as much time with my family, and I say it openly. I want to be a coach in the World Cup, European Championship, Africa Cup of Nations, or Asian Cup," RNE audio quotes Xavi as saying.
Under Xavi's leadership, the Catalans won the La Liga and Spanish Super Cup. Since then, he has been without a Spanish club and has repeatedly expressed his desire to work at the international level.
