Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he personally tried to sign forward Kilian Mbappe.
Sport.Biz reports that the French coach admitted to flying to Monaco and meeting with the player's family at their home.
"I tried to convince Kilian Mbappe to join Arsenal. I bought a plane ticket and flew to Monaco. That same evening, I was at his home with his parents. They were willing to move until they understood that Monaco would give him a chance", - BBC quotes Wenger.
Mbappe made his debut for Monaco's senior team at the age of 16 in 2015. He then moved to Paris Saint-Germain for 180 million euros and became the second most expensive footballer in history at the time.
