As part of the main stage of EURO-2026, the Azerbaijani national team lost to Croatia 1:4 in their last match today. Sport24.az reports that the head coach of the national team, Vitali Borisov, voiced these thoughts at the briefing held after the game:
"We played against a strong opponent. The Croatian national team won all 6 of its group matches and advanced to the final stage of the European Championship with the maximum score. Our team played well today. Usually we couldn't keep up in the second half and dropped out of the game. This time they fought well against a strong opponent.
We have many injured futsal players in our squad. Most of them came out on the field with painkillers. But they didn't make it felt.
We have already said and informed what is necessary about Rovshan Huseynli. We have removed him from this training camp, but the doors of the national team are open to him in the next training camps. This is everyone's national team. There were no goalkeeper errors in any of the goals we conceded today."
