Leicester captain Jamie Vardy, whose team will leave the Premier League and drop to the Championship from the new season, shared his thoughts on the matter.
GOL.az reports that the English striker wrote in his social media account that leaving the elite division is shameful for him:
"I don't even know what to say right now. I can't express in words the anger and sadness I feel about the path we have taken this season. There are no excuses. As a team, players and club, we have failed. There is nothing to hide. This is a completely shameful thing for me personally."
The 38-year-old footballer apologized to the fans: "We have had many great achievements and successes in this club for a long time. This season has been nothing but misfortune. I apologize to the fans. Unfortunately, we could not stay in the Premier League. We apologize for finishing the season in such a bad situation."
It should be noted that it has already been confirmed that Leicester, who became the English champion for the first time in their history in the 2015/2016 season, will finish this season in the bottom three. The team is in 19th place with 18 points after 33 rounds.
